StoopUp does not store card numbers. All transactions are handled securely by Stripe.
Platform Role
StoopUp acts as a facilitator for fundraising activities between neighbors (creators) and their supporters (donors/sponsors).
- •We provide the platform infrastructure for creating fundraising goals and collecting contributions
- •We facilitate connections between event hosts and Fundraisers
- •We process payments using Stripe's secure infrastructure — direct creator earnings use Destination Charges, routing funds straight to the creator's Stripe account at checkout
- •Business Partner sponsorships use a prepaid distribution model: businesses fund a bucket in advance, and we disburse from that bucket to neighbors as sponsorships occur
- •We collect a platform fee (standard 5%) to maintain and improve our services — content sales carry no platform fee
StoopUp is not a party to transactions. We provide tools; creators fulfill commitments to supporters.
Payout Timing & Dependencies
Direct Creator Earnings (Sponsorships, Content, NOWReady, Goal Support):
- •Funds route directly to your Stripe account at checkout via Destination Charges — no held funds and no payout request needed
- •Your Stripe balance follows Stripe's standard payout schedule (typically 2-7 business days depending on your account settings)
- •New Stripe accounts may experience longer initial payout delays as required by Stripe
Neighborhood Trust Fund Awards & Disbursements:
- •Contributions to the Trust Fund are held in a shared community pool — they are not paid to any individual neighbor at the time of contribution
- •Trust Fund awards and disbursements are manually reviewed and handled by StoopUp; there is no automatic payout
- •Eligibility (such as L2 Contributor with 100+ Community Trust points) makes a neighbor eligible for consideration but does not guarantee an award will be made
- •Award amounts, timing, and recipients are determined by StoopUp at its sole discretion
Business Partner Disbursements:
- •Businesses fund a bucket in advance; we disburse from that prepaid balance to neighbors as sponsorships occur
- •Disbursements to goal owners require admin review and approval before release
Fundraiser Payments:
- •Flat fee payments held in escrow until event completion
- •Escrow released to the Fundraiser upon event completion confirmation
Stripe Connect Relationship
Stripe Connect facilitates payments to creators and Fundraisers.
- •When you sign up, you create a Stripe Connect account
- •Your account is linked to StoopUp but managed independently
- •Stripe handles all payment processing, compliance, and payouts
- •Manage settings through the Stripe dashboard
By using StoopUp's payment features, you agree to Stripe's terms in addition to StoopUp's terms.
Financial Data Handling
What StoopUp Stores:
- •Transaction records (amounts, dates, status)
- •Stripe customer and account IDs (for linking)
- •Payout history and earnings summaries
What StoopUp Does NOT Store:
- •Credit card numbers or CVV codes
- •Bank account numbers
- •Social Security numbers or tax IDs
- •Any sensitive payment credentials
All sensitive information is stored by Stripe in PCI-DSS compliance. StoopUp never has access to full payment details.
Security Standards
Stripe is a PCI Level 1 Service Provider—the highest certification. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256).
